Frida Kahlo: The Making of an Icon
Exhibition at Tate Modern, London, June 2026 – January 2027

Frida Kahlo (1907-54) is today one of the most celebrated artists of the 20th century, inspiring a global cult following. A self-taught artist, she sought to transcend the often horrific circumstances of her personal life through her self-portraits and other autobiographical images, which radically reinterpreted the folk art of her native Mexico. The Tate exhibition will showcase Kahlo’s various ‘selves’, as political activist and wife as well as artist.

Each talk will last approximately one hour.
