Between 30-50% of GP consultations now concern mental health. As a GP for over 20 years, Gavin Francis has had a front row seat to society’s changing ideas of mental illness. The Unfragile Mind draws on hundreds of conversations with patients and specialist colleagues about mental suffering and how best to ease it. With Karine Polwart today, he argues that society’s current approach is overly rigid, and would benefit from more curiosity, humility, kindness, and hope.
