For 30 years, Ben Giles worked the frontline of Britain’s most hidden profession – crime scene cleaning. As a specialist in biohazard remediation, he faced gruesome situations and the emotional toll of an extraordinary job.

His memoir, The Specialist – How to Clean a Crime Scene (and other messes), recounts the often-gruesome details of his trade. As well as crime scenes, he tackled the challenges of hoarders, industrial spillages and animal remains, emerging with incredible tales to tell.

Ben will be interviewed by author Craig Robertson whose novel The Undiscovered Deaths of Grace McGill featured a crime scene cleaner.
