Accessibility at The Birks

Our cafe, cinema auditorium and comfort facilities are fully accessible, and we host a variety of inclusive events each week.

Parking

We are situated in the heart of Aberfeldy, overlooking the town square. Parking is usually available on the adjoining Chapel Street, or within 100 yards in the public car park behind the Cooperative store. There is also a disabled space to the east side of the building and another in the Aberfeldy square.

Facilities

The Birks Cinema scores highly on physical access. Our entrance has a gentle ramp and the door is operated by a push pad. Inside, we have one-level access from the entrance into the café-bar and then to the auditorium. All toilets are also situated on this level.

Our two meeting spaces on the mezzanine floor are accessible by wheelchair-friendly lift.

The Birks Cinema 100-seat auditorium has an adjustable seating row to accommodate wheelchair users.

We also have a hearing loop system and are introducing screenings for those with particular special needs.

Inclusion

On arrival, we aim to give all of our customers a sincere, warm welcome.

The Birks Cinema hosts a relaxed screening throughout each month. In a relaxed screening the lights are left on low throughout and the sound is set to a lower volume. You are free and very welcome to speak, sing, clap and laugh throughout the screening.
