A Matter of Life and Death

Join us for a a special introduction and Q&A following the film. Part of our Powell & Pressburger series: In Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger’s audacious Technicolor fantasy, WWII airman David Niven finds himself summoned to heaven after surviving a plane crash that should have killed him.

Film will be introduced by David Melville Wingrove, a Teaching Fellow in Film Studies and Literature at the University of Edinburgh Centre for Open Learning. A contributor to Senses of Cinema, Sight & Sound and The Guardian, he describes himself as a Lecturer in Hollywood Glamour and Gothic Excess.
